If the Louvre is an essential part of your Paris trip this autumn, check the booking requirement before deciding which day to visit. The museum’s official admission page lists a specific reservation period from 17 October to 1 November 2026.

What the museum’s notice says

The Louvre says reservations are required during that period, with listed exceptions for certain cardholders and other eligible visitors. Read the actual exception list rather than assuming that free admission or a membership held by someone in your group automatically covers everyone.

Read the Louvre’s official dated reservation notice and exception list. Use the official ticket portal linked by the museum to check your visit.

Fit the museum into the trip, not the other way around

Tripappia’s editorial suggestion is to choose the museum day around the available visit slot, then keep the nearby outing lighter. Do not build a full day of timed attractions around an unconfirmed Louvre visit.

The Louvre’s regular schedule also closes the museum on Tuesdays. If your proposed museum day falls on a Tuesday, move the museum visit to an open date instead of treating the day number in a suggested itinerary as fixed.

If a suitable slot is not available

Check another open day within your stay and decide how important the museum is to your trip. Keep an alternative plan that does not depend on gaining admission. This article cannot confirm ticket availability or promise entry without a reservation.

Use our Paris four-day itinerary for neighbourhood groupings, then personalise the Paris route around your confirmed dates. Keep a separate arrival buffer rather than tying museum entry to an estimated airport transfer.
